"Northern Lights" Nominated for CBC Indigenous Music Award!

Our music video "Northern Lights" has been nominated for a CBC Indigenous Music Award! The competition is steep but it's an honour to be nominated amongst such legendary artists as Buffy Saint Marie. Many thanks again to Cody Coyote & Vision Quest for trusting me with their art and bringing me on board for this awesome project!

Special Olympics

I ran into my friend Alistair Maitland (https://www.alistairmaitland.com) a few weeks ago at a coffee shop and he mentioned he had a cool gig for Special Olympics Yukon coming up that he wanted me to help shoot. They wanted to riff on James Cordon's popular Car Pool Karaoke videos - it sounded like fun so I was in! We used local CKRW radio hosts Moira & Bobby as well as some of the athletes and a coach, to advertise their annual fundraising event. The event is on April 7th and for more info check out their website here: http://www.specialolympicsyukon.ca

Casper - Flackern, Flimmern

I was fortunate enough to be 1st Assistant Camera on this epic 3 day shoot for the extremely popular German Hip Hop artist, Casper. This shoot had it all: helicopters, good weather, good luck, and a great crew!

Among other locations, this shoot took us to a little known plane crash site from the 1950's, located high in the mountains, about 50 km North of Haines Junction (for more info: https://www.warhistoryonline.com/guest-bloggers/yukon-crash-site-revisited-vol-2.html/2). That day, the Weather Gods smiled upon us: while it was -25*C in town, it was +2*C up the mountain - spring had come 2 months early! After a long day of shooting, I looked out the heli window as we headed back to town. The sun was setting on the pink Kluane Mountains, and it was definitely one of those "I love my job" feelings...also "man, I wish all my gigs were this cool!"

"Gone Means Gone"

Grand Boy Productions got in touch last fall with an interesting project. They brought me on board as Director of Photography and Camera Op for a short video which was part of a non-profit #notmyscoop campaign.  The aim was to raise awareness of the Sixties Scoop in Canada and the impact it had on the lives of those affected.
