Haines, Alaska

Every fall my old man and I try to make it to Haines, Alaska for the Coho run. The weather is brisk, the mountains are snowy and the eagles and bears are fat from feasting all summer. This year we were accompanied by my girlfriend and a co-worker....and of course, my girlfriend took home the biggest fish! A story that quickly circulated around the office and one sure I haven't heard the last of.  I didn't upload the pictures of her trophy, but it was about 20 lbs! Enjoy these other pics. Oh, I've also included a few pictures from last year.

Technicolour Zebras

I kind of stumbled upon these zebras in more ways than one. I was visiting Kenya's Massai Mara in 2007 (during the post-election riots) when we came around a bend in the dirt road and there, seemingly waiting for us, posing, was this majestic zebra. The pictures sat in my hard drive for months until the digital dust was blown off of them when I was trying to find pictures for a show in a coffee shop in Vancouver. After much tinkering and messing about, these are the results.

Streetlight People

I got home from work today and decided that I would/could/should update the Ol' Blog. Sifting through the depths of my laptop I came across a few pictures that were taken at some point this winter in Vancouver. I think I was attempting to make a panoramic from the Granville bridge (which I'll upload at some point) but thought that these were pretty groovy pictures as well. When I look at these pictures for some reason Journey - Don't Stop Believing plays around in my head. Anyways, that's probably just me. Enjoy.

Lightbulb

So I've been playing around with some of the pictures from Tombstones, but I haven't had as much time to focus on them as I would like due to work and of course visiting my friends while I'm still up here in the Yukon. I'm pretty happy with how these turned out and now I'm thinking of putting a show together in this style. I suppose I'd need more shots of say Kluane or the Chilkoot or other Yukon areas, but I think it would turn out to be a pretty cool show. Anyways here is a sample of a few to give you an idea of what is to come. enjoy.

The Tombstones, Yukon

I've been meaning to visit the Tombstones Territorial Park for approximately 26 years now, and finally after posting 'who wants to go to the Tombstones with me?' on Facebook, I managed to maneuver my way into catching a ride with some wild (and one definitely crazy) girls that happened to be going. After being made fun of for wearing running shoes and jeans (I left my 'hiking outfit' in Vancouver), we grinded our way up to Grizzly Lake for 2 nights and 3 days of the most beautiful scenery I have seen...pretty much EVER! Though this trip was one of the coolest thing's I've done, it also made me realize A) how out of shape I am, and B) the need to do these kinds of adventures more often. Anyways, enjoy the images ....
