When I was a wee Whippersnapper I was somehow immune to the frigid water of the Yukon River - this is no longer the case. A buddy of mine recently launched a Stand Up Paddle Boarding company here in Whitehorse and I joined him on a quick trip from the Pumphouse to Shipyards. I quickly got the hang of it, but with the finish line in sight I got a little cocky and lost focus, resulting in the board bucking me off and into the freezing water I went. I don't think I've ever scrambled so fast as I did to get back on that board.

#YukonFood: A Culinary Festival
Tourism Industry Assoc. Yukon got in touch to help promote the first ever Yukon Culinary Festival. It was 5 days of great food, beer, and fun. There are so many talented food producers, chefs, enthusiasts and tinkerers up here that I'm sure it will be a HUGE event in the future! Here are some screen grabs from the short trailer I'm putting together:

Together Today
These past few months I've been working on a short commemorative video for Aboriginal Affairs here in Whitehorse. They wanted a video that would celebrate the 20th and 40th Anniversary of some key documents that helped pave the way to Yukon Land Claims and First Nations Self-Government. They also wanted it to instil a sense of pride and inspiration. This was definitely one of the more complex projects that I've worked on; not necessarily from a technical aspect, but more due to the political and bureaucratic elements that go along with a project of this nature. In the end, I think it turned out pretty darn good!

Yukon Salmon Sub-Committee: Journeys with Kings
Yukon Salmon Sub-Committee got in touch with me to help edit footage shot on a trip down the Yukon River last summer. They visited a number of villages along the river in order to get a better understanding of the status of the King Salmon and to talk with locals about strategies to protect the resource.
