I was recently brought on by Max Fraser Productions to work on a Human resources video for Yukon Highways & Public Works. I was responsible for editing, graphics & motion graphics. In order to replicate the dept. branding, we used a lot of browns and layered some scribbles from blueprints and other docs. One of the difficulties with this project was that they wanted a version in which they list pretty much all the communities in the Yukon and many of the services that they're responsible for - this was a LOT of text. So we had to get creative in figuring out how to get the message across while keeping people's attention and not jeopardizing the style of the piece. We decided to embed the text into the image and have it "interact" with the objects in the scene. This was done in AE and involved 3d Camera Tracking and rotoscoping objects, or matting.
Here are some samples:
YukonTravel on the BIG SCREEN!
Last night I saw one of the biggest films of the year - the Hunger Games - here in Vancouver and got a pleasant surprise when one of my commercials for Yukon Tourism played right before the trailers! The agency Outside The Cube brought me in to shoot a spot that highlights some of the things Yukoners like to do in the long, dark winters. The last time I saw my work played on the Big Screen was at my Film School graduation. Usually my work is shown online, or TV - so it was definitely a little different seeing this one projected in 2K in front of hundreds of people!
CTV Christmas Parade
Every year CTV broadcasts the Toronto Christmas Parade and this year they wanted to have families across Canada wish people a Happy Holidays. Working with Yukon Government Tourism, we set out on a warm October day to ask some families about what special things they do for the holidays. Even though it was +5˚C we had to bundle them up in winter clothes to make it look like it was a cold November day - MOVIE MAGIC!

Arts Under Pressure
I did a short stint as a casual hire with the Yukon Government this summer, and here's one of the short docs we put together. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iRblsGlqrtg
Culture Camp 2013
I'm working with Yukon Salmon Sub-Committee and the Ta'an Kwächän First Nation to put together a short video on their 2013 kids cultural camp in the context of a lack of Yukon River Salmon.
